The HP for Education (HPfE) trade-in programme allows schools to unlock additional funds, on average £5,000*, by trading-in old equipment after purchasing new devices. This environmentally responsible recycling of your unwanted equipment helps your budget go further by funding access to Discovery Education's digital curriculum resources.

Register with HPfE
Once you've purchased your new equipment, you'll need to register on the HPfE site within 30 days of your purchase. As part of the registration process you'll need the following information:
Full registered school address
Authorised contact details
School bank account details
School VAT number (if applicable)
Please note: your bank details are needed to issue your rewards. Your account can take up to 3 working days to be approved.
*£5,000 is the average trade in value expected by HP in 2019
Start your trade-in
Once you have registered with the HPfE programme you're ready to trade-in your old devices. You'll have 30 calendar days in which to collect the trade-in items and arrange delivery to HP. Each laptop collected typically generates £100 for the school. The exact trade-in value is confirmed to you within 7 working days at which point you accept your trade-in offer and your HPfE account is credited (within 5 working days).
Your HPfE funds must be spent on Discovery Education solutions within 60 days. Make your purchase through the HPfE online marketplace. Your Discovery Education purchase will be confirmed within 3 days of order.
What Discovery Education solutions can I buy?
Discovery Education Espresso is a cross-curricular learning service for teachers and pupils covering Foundation to Key Stage 2. Containing a wealth of digital resources, including short videos, interactive games, printable worksheets, image galleries and more, Espresso supports delivery of the National Curriculum with flexible resources that support any teaching style. Resources are grouped into modules, or topics, supporting specific objectives and include point-of-use teacher notes.
The Espresso News service, included as part of your subscription, delivers age-appropriate news features helping pupils understand the world they live in, build cultural capital and make connections to what they are learning in the classroom. Multiple tools enable users to search by curriculum objective, subject or resource type ensuring that all educators and pupils are able to use Espresso to its fullest potential.
With a focus on computational thinking and problem solving, Discovery Education Coding (for Key Stages 1 and 2), contains over 100 step-by-step lessons for Block Coding, HTML and Python. Resources are grouped into units that scaffold learning by guiding users from coding beginners to creating their own apps.
